The main difference between Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is the exclusive Pokémon found in each version. These games are remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl DS entries, and they share a largely identical experience in terms of story, map, characters, and price. Here are some key differences between the two versions:

  • Cover Legendaries: Brilliant Diamond features Dialga, a Steel/Dragon-type Pokémon with the power to control time, while Shining Pearl features Palkia, a Water/Dragon-type Pokémon with the ability to distort space.
  • Version-Exclusive Pokémon: Each game has a handful of exclusive Pokémon that cannot be found in the other version. For example, Brilliant Diamond features Cranidos, Rampardos, Honchkrow, Stunky, Skuntank, Electivire, Gliscor, and Dialga, while Shining Pearl features Shieldon, Bastiodon, Mismagius, Glameow, Purugly, Magmortar, and others.
